Support
Something not working, or just stuck on a tricky stretch? Here is how to get help.
Get in touch: hello@xzistdigital.com
TumbleWing is made by a very small team, so replies are written by a person and may take a couple of days. Telling us your device, your OS version and what you were doing at the time helps enormously.
How to play
Each garden has a few birds and a few nests, and every nest carries a bird’s name. Pick a bird, choose a direction and tap Flap. That bird hops one perch — and its gust of wind pushes the bird beside or behind it. Bring every bird home to its own nest.
- Preview before you flap. Choose a direction and the board shows both the hop and the gust before you commit.
- Undo is always free, and Start again resets the garden. There is no timer, no move limit and no lives.
- Stars. Fewer flaps earn more stars. Three stars the first time in a garden also earns a ticket for Seed Skim, the bonus flight.
- A little help shows the next move when you are stuck.
- Coins unlock birds. All 64 play by exactly the same rules — they are there to collect, not to gain an advantage.
The Shop
Tap Shop in the bar along the bottom of the home screen (it is also in Settings). The Shop has the one optional purchase, TumbleWing Supporter, with its price, a Become a supporter button and a Restore purchase button.
Gardens, the daily garden and the trail
The story has 42 gardens in seven chapters; finish a chapter to open the next. The daily garden is a fresh puzzle every day, with the past week to catch up on. The winding trail has 10,000 more gardens once you are ready for them.
Accessibility
TumbleWing supports Reduce Motion, can be played with swipes or with on-screen buttons, has large tap targets, announces progress to screen readers, and plays one-handed in portrait. If something about the game is difficult for you to use, please tell us — it is genuinely useful feedback and we would rather hear it than not.
Reporting a bug
Email hello@xzistdigital.com with:
- Your device and OS version (for example, iPhone 15, iOS 18.2)
- The TumbleWing version, shown in your device's app settings
- What happened, and what you expected instead
- A screenshot or screen recording, if you can
The things people
ask us most.
If your question is not here, write to us. We would rather answer it than have you guess.
How do I restore my supporter purchase?
Tap Shop on the home screen (or Settings, then Shop) and select Restore purchase while signed into the Apple Account that bought the upgrade. The one-time upgrade gives 50% more coins from garden rewards and bonus flights; it is not a subscription. Restoring the purchase does not restore local coin balances or bird collections.
Where is my progress saved? Is it backed up?
On your device, and only on your device. TumbleWing has no accounts and no cloud sync, which is also why it never asks you to sign in or collects anything about you.
The trade-off is real and worth knowing: removing the app and its data removes local progress. We do not provide cloud sync or hold a backup; any device backup is managed by your device provider.
My coins and birds have disappeared
Progress is stored in the app's local storage, so it is cleared if the app is deleted and reinstalled, or if you clear the app's data in your device settings. Offloading an iOS app normally preserves its documents and data.
If your progress vanished without any of those happening, please write to us with your device and OS version — that would be a bug and we would like to know.
Do more expensive birds help me solve puzzles?
No, and deliberately so. Every one of the 64 birds plays by exactly the same rules. The rarer ones are harder to obtain, not better to play with. Nothing in TumbleWing can be bought to make the puzzles easier.
I have enough coins but a bird still will not unlock
The extinct birds also need three-star finishes in the gardens — for the rarest, a lot of them. Open the bird in your Flock and it shows exactly how many you have and how many you need.
There is no sound
Open Settings and check that Sound effects is On, then check your device volume and silent switch. TumbleWing has sound effects but no music.
The motion makes me uncomfortable
Turn on Reduce Motion in your device's accessibility settings and TumbleWing will respect it — resting birds become still and the secondary flourishes are softened.
Is there any advertising or tracking?
None. No ads, analytics or tracking. The game plays fully offline; Apple handles the optional supporter purchase and restoration. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
