Cookie Policy
1. Introduction
1.1 This Cookie Policy explains how Xzist Digital Limited (“Xzist Digital”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at xzistdigital.com (the “Website”).
1.2 This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.
1.3 By continuing to use the Website, or by accepting the cookie banner, you agree to our use of cookies as described in this Cookie Policy. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time; see clause 8.
2. What are cookies?
2.1 Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, phone, tablet or other device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site.
2.2 Cookies may be:
- Session cookies: which expire when you close your browser; or
- Persistent cookies: which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
2.3 Cookies may also be:
- First-party cookies: set by us directly when you visit our Website; or
- Third-party cookies: set by a service provider or partner when you visit our Website (for example, analytics or advertising providers).
2.4 We also use similar technologies that operate in the same way, including:
- pixel tags (also known as “web beacons” or “clear GIFs”);
- local storage (including HTML5 local storage and session storage);
- software development kits (SDKs);
- device fingerprinting techniques.
References to “cookies” in this policy include all of these technologies.
3. Why we use cookies
3.1 We use cookies to:
- ensure the Website functions correctly and securely;
- remember your preferences (such as whether you have accepted our cookie banner);
- understand how visitors use the Website so we can improve it;
- measure the effectiveness of any advertising we run; and
- deliver relevant marketing to you on other websites (where you have consented to this).
4. Categories of cookies we use
4.1 We group cookies into the following categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are essential for the Website to function. They enable core functionality such as security, network management and accessibility. Without these cookies, the Website cannot work properly. These cookies do not require your consent under PECR.
- Analytics cookies. These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of the Website. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the Website. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and anonymised. These cookies require your consent.
- Functional cookies. These cookies enable the Website to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your preferences. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to the Website. These cookies require your consent.
- Marketing / advertising cookies. These cookies may be set through the Website by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other websites. They do not store personal information directly but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and device. These cookies require your consent.
5. Cookies we use
The tables below reflect the cookies actually set by the Website today. We do not currently load analytics, functional, or advertising cookies. If we add any in the future, we will update this page and prompt you for consent through the cookie banner.
Strictly necessary cookies
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
xzist_consent |
Xzist Digital (first-party) | Stores your cookie-consent preferences | 12 months |
We also store a small xzist_consent_log entry in your browser's localStorage. It is not a cookie, but is mentioned here for transparency: it holds an audit trail of the consent choice you made (timestamp and decision) so we can demonstrate compliance.
Analytics cookies
None set at present. If we add an analytics tool in the future (for example, a privacy-friendly tool such as Plausible or Fathom, or Google Analytics 4 via Google Consent Mode), this section will be updated and the cookie banner will ask for your consent before any analytics cookies are set.
Functional cookies
None set at present. We do not currently use a chat widget, embedded videos, or other interactive third-party widgets that set functional cookies.
Marketing / advertising cookies
None set at present. We do not currently run advertising campaigns and do not load advertising pixels (such as Meta, LinkedIn Insight, or Google Ads).
6. Third-party services
6.1 We use the following third-party services to deliver the Website. Each may set their own cookies or process limited information about your visit. Their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
| Service | Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Vercel Inc. | Hosting and content delivery for the Website | vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| Google Fonts | Google LLC | Serves the typefaces used on the Website. Does not set cookies. | policies.google.com/privacy |
6.2 Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally as a result, the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy (clause 9) apply.
7. How long do cookies stay on my device?
7.1 The length of time a cookie remains on your device depends on whether it is a session cookie or a persistent cookie. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them.
7.2 The expiry times for the cookies we use are set out in the tables in clauses 5 and 6.
8. How to manage your cookie preferences
8.1 Cookie banner. When you first visit the Website, you will see a cookie banner asking whether you accept non-essential cookies. You can:
- accept all cookies;
- reject all non-essential cookies (strictly necessary cookies will still be set because they are essential for the Website to function); or
- customise your preferences by category.
8.2 Changing your preferences later. You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie settings” link in our footer.
8.3 Withdrawing consent. Where we rely on your consent to set cookies, you can withdraw that consent at any time using the mechanism in clause 8.2. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of cookie use before your withdrawal.
8.4 Browser controls. Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually:
- block all cookies;
- block third-party cookies;
- clear existing cookies;
- request notification before a cookie is set.
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of the Website.
8.5 Browser-specific instructions:

8.6 Opting out of analytics and advertising cookies. We do not currently load analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes in the future, you can manage your consent through the cookie banner described above, and we will update this section with any additional opt-out routes that become relevant.
9. Do Not Track signals
9.1 Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that signals to websites you visit that you do not want your online activity tracked. Because there is no industry-wide consensus on how to respond to DNT signals, we do not currently respond to them. You can, however, exercise the choices described in clause 8.
10. Changes to this Cookie Policy
10.1 We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The updated version will be indicated by an updated “Last updated” date.
10.2 Where changes are material, we may notify you through the cookie banner or another prominent notice on the Website.
